Imbalanced and Legendaries.

03 Oct 2008

So, yesterday finally Melkunie went Legendary, gratz to him for the way-too-long awaited and well deserved bow.

The reason I am making this post is though to show something that can picture pretty well our luck with legendary drops:

This is how we roll

And now, for real, see you in Wrath of the Lich King!

Game Over. Again.

21 Jul 2008

Well, here we are again, in front of a last boss kill.

Everyone seems to expect from me a long "emo" post after this kill, and I can't certainly betray the expectations. This kill came a lot later than we expected and hoped, the Summer did play some cheap trick on us, but yet again, here we are standing steady through the adversities. Hell, it would be all too easy for us most likely without something coming up everytime to revolution our plans. Almost one year since our previous "Game Over" newspost, many things have changed in Imbalanced. Many old friends decided to take other roads far from the game, a lot of new faces joined to take their place fulfilling our expectations, and some unforgettable pillars of this guild's past history came back home.

One thing didn't change though: the Spirit permeating this guild, this enlarged family; no, that is still the same. We may have thousands of kilometers between us, but the bonds we managed to form go beyond the geographic dinstances, it's a feeling which cannot really be described, but can be felt, and I hope everyone wearing this oh so dear to me tag agrees with me on this one.

Without further ado, let me then proceed to the long overdue "thanks" part.

We are 25 in the above screenshot, but this doesn't mean that we defeated Sunwell in 25. Every single member - be him actively raiding, sitting in standby, slacking, playing casual, pvping, going for the army, taking a break or whatever - gave his contribution to this victory, be it only for a smile on IRC or cheering for their guildmates in game. Thank you Coedan, Nexxie, Tokenness, Torgrin, Akuun, Cinder, Deuznak, Lloth, Melkunie, Actuus, Brutalis, Buegrasso, Carew, Catly, Cixie, Die, Faxe, Fovitro, Glemdening, Gonorrhae, Juvy, Karnee, Kjeldor, Maldion, Materasso, Milten, Mow, Netheranda, Nisa, Ohnoes, Oxi, Picu, Scripto, Serenity, Sharnaak, Shuyinko, Silenzio, Trokz, Uriel, Voodoodoll, Xzi, Wally, Zodz, Anni, Arcanis, Assassin, Bull, Cyclone, Daeagle, Euripylos, Fantastico, Frostal, Ghiaccio, Greystaff, Kibba, Masami, Miniwtfz, Niemen, Spiney, Viperbg, Wraak, Bigibigidis, Grint, Kadaji, Nogi, Tazhiman, Ticina. You all are the best guild members an officer could desire, really. If I forgot anyone, I blame the guild panel, but your place is there among the rest of us.

I want to thank from the depths of my heart, representing the whole guild, all the people who in the past couple of days took a few seconds of their time and whispered either me or anyone in Imbalanced (with someone even sending "chain whispers to all Imbalanced" ) wishing us good luck, or telling us to keep strong while we were wiping, or just asking how we were doing and cheering us up. I am sorry most of the time we couldn't answer your whispers for obvious reasons, but you can rest assured that those did indeed cheer us up through hard moments. Thank you whole, Neptulon, it is nice to feel loved by your own server, we love you too.

For last, but not for least, let me thank also Blizzard. Many said that Naxxramas was an unrepeatable height in the conception of raiding. They proved them wrong. Sunwell Plateau is without any doubt the best raid instance ever designed for a MMO. We are really looking forward with anticipation to what the future will hold.

We will keep raiding in the meanwhile, and I would like to remind everyone that our recruitment is currently open, please visit our applications forums for more information.

This is about it, folks. So long, thank you for all the loot, and hopefully see you for another long, emo newspost in Wrath of the Lich King.

P.s. Some people asked me why we don't (and never did) mention the items we get in our newsposts. The answer is simple, guys: Imbalanced isn't, never was, and never will be about the loots you get or the epics you wear, but it is about the people behind the characters wearing those items. Have a nice Summer everyone!

P.p.s. Habemus Video! Adds tank PoV sucks, and hope you love seeing a fat bear ass up most of the time! The intro is priceless though, even if it loses much if you're not in the internal-joke-circle: LINK

M'uru is dead.

03 Jun 2008

Hell yes.

Fucking finally.
We had a severely hard start on this guy due to everyone and their dogs having a hellrain of other things to do in the past three weeks, but when we finally managed to put down a decent setup for one week in a row, the Dark Lamp finally yielded to us. The awesome nerdscream that ensued was proof of the charge and the determination we had in ourselves. Everyone in the guild deserved this, both the 25 chosen ones that were on the floor, and the other great guys that were sitting on the bench, but made Imbalanced get where we are today, at the last step of The Burning Crusade stair.

What to say about this encounter?
Let's start with a classic: oh my god, what a fight. Hats really go off in front of what, as far as we experienced until now, is indeed the best encounter Blizzard ever created. So incredibly tightly tuned and so damn unforgiving on any small mistake anyone can do in any moment of this fight. A true love-hate relationship with M'uru, really.

Now let's talk about something else and let's break some myths and urban legends about M'uru.

They said: you can't beat M'uru without at least 4 Shamans Bloodlusting. False. We did it with 3 and our DPS was awesome.
They said: Mages are an useless class in raiding today. False. We had 4 with us tonight, and they were incredible.
They said: Retribution Paladins aren't worthy a raid spot. False. Ask Uriel for any clarification about that.
They said: Holy Priests are dead weight at M'uru. Die and Netheranda disagree on that, and so say we all.
They said: Warlocks are overpowered. Oh well, they can't be always wrong, can they?

One thing is certain: defeating M'uru requires perfect execution, and perfection is what every single member of Imbalanced put on the table today. I'm proud to be sharing my evenings playing with you, guys.

Now, as he yelled throughout our experience in the Sunwell Plateau, Kil'Jaeden has waited long enough. Bring it on!

Edit: Thank you to Carew for providing us with an alternative M'uru Kill Shot from the perspective of the guys that couldn't be with us tonight.

Edit 2: Recruitment is STILL OPEN. Please refer to our Applications Forum for more information on our requirements and on how to apply. You know you want to join us for Kil'Jaeden and beyond.

Edit 3! Thanks to Melkunie, we now have also a M'uru kill video!
